Saragossa is unique and colorful. We sell upcycled jackets in various styles. The fabric begins as recycled sarees from several Central Asian countries. The sarees are hand-stitched together to form kantha shawls. Then the shawls are used to create reversible jackets with an endless variety of colors and prints. And every jacket is just like Saragossa—entirely unique and colorful.
Each of Saragossa’s Paris jackets is unique. The short silk jacket comes from the ancient kantha process. The technique involves simple, straight stitches that create a new dynamic on silk sarees. All the stitching is done by hand (using the ancient methods) so most of the stitches are uneven and in a few cases the stitch is broken. The artisans who sew the threads in the kantha fabric add colors and accents which deepen the beauty of the fabric. Saragossa’s Paris is full of different patterns with geometrical forms, drawings and floral expressions in a myriad of color. The Paris line is something you can use for every occasion. With different interpretations you can wear them at formal occasions or for something casual. Each jacket is reversible so by turning the Paris inside out, you get an entirely different jacket.
